I have heard from another big NES fan that he really believes the NES was/is the #1 best console for sports games.
I am hesitant to agree, but it has me thinking. For football, you have Tecmo Bowl and Tecmo Super Bowl, which even non-NES enthusiasts still remember as superb titles. For basketball, you have Tecmo NBA Basketball, a title I believe is very good, underrated -- and perhaps gets better over time, as the vintage appeal of being able to play as teams with Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Karl Malone, Hakeem Olajuwon, Reggie Miller, etc., may only increase. Even for quirky, unique athletic titles, you have stuff like Super Dodge Ball, Track & Field...
In light of the Madden franchise, the high-definition graphics of modern sports titles, where does the NES stand? Does its selection of sports games still survive the test of time?
