As I am playing through and reviewing all the NTSC NES games, I received a request from someone that wanted me to compile one definitive list of all the two-dimensional platform titles on the console.
This got me thinking: What other NES-centric lists would be fun or handy to have? Because I'm going to be spending so much time on the NES anyway, and because these sorts of things can be difficult to find on the web and it might be nice to have all in one place, and frankly also just because I like the NES and am slightly list-obsessed, let me know what other categorical lists regarding the NES library you would like to see made.

I'd like to come up with a complete list of origins. As in....Donkey Kong. First an arcade game, then ported to the NES...then the NES version is unlockable in DK64...and so on. Sometimes I'll play an NES game and find out later it's a port. I'd like a complete flowchart of the origins of each game, and when and where they were ported.

... huh. That's not a bad idea. Would be tedious and time-consuming, but totally doable, and I bet it would be genuinely interesting. Thanks for that contribution, I am actually going to take note of it as a future project-to-be. I think it would just have to be limited to a certain extent, though, since titles like Metroid and Mario are still pushing out titles. Maybe have a 64-bit cut-off on the game family tree or somethin'.

Right. Once you get to the 64 and onward, many classics just get put on endless games like "Namco arcade museum" and "Williams' greatest hits" so it may get diluted.
