Hello! Nice to meet you. A while back I posted some NES reviews on Helium, and I met The Nintendo Legend through that. Seems like a cool project!
I've been a fan of the NES since my older bro brought one home near Christmas way back in the 80s. I still play NES on a fairly regular basis. Last week I had some vacation, so I went through Snake's Revenge, T & C 2, River City Ransom, Final Fantasy, Target Renegade, and Double Dragon to name a few.
I'm currently playing games using my DS, which is nice because it has a fast forward and rewind option, but takes away from the challenge a lot. I like it for games like Final Fantasy, since I finally was able to level up to 50 using the fast forward without taking precious days off my life. Also good for games like T & C 2, which I don't care enough about to get good at.
I've got a decent collection of NES and many other old school systems at home, but I've been living overseas for almost 3 years, so gotta love being able to play using alternate means.
Besides a period of writing reviews for the NES, I also went through a period of making videos about playing NES that I posted on youtube. Ten of my favorite NES games include: Crystalis (God Slayer in Japanese), Final Fantasy, Mike Tyson's Punch-Out, River City Ransom, Tetris, Dusty Diamond's All-Star Softball, Castlevania III, Shadowgate, Mega Man II, and the Legend of Zelda.
Oh yeah and playing NES was probably the single greatest inspiration for me to eventually study Japanese (although I'm pretty bad at it), studying in Japan for a semester (where I unfortunately found out the famicom I lugged back home couldn't get a signal on my TV), and probably is what lead me to live in Asia today, so yay NES!
