I'm just going to go ahead and say it:
I believe Punch-Out!! is among the most overrated video games of all time.
I think it's a good game, and it definitely gets points for its uniqueness, challenge level, big sprites, and other factors, but I have always been mystified by its appearance near the top of "best NES games"-type lists. Interesting.
Go ahead, flame me, I know there's a lot of Punch-Out!! lovers out there.
###
So what do you think are the most overrated NES titles?

I sucked terribly at Punch-Out!! the few times I tried to play, so no comment. I still like King Hippo.
I'll say Super Mario Bros. 2. Not the awesome AMERICANIZED version based off Doki Doki Panic, but the one released in Japan. I actually got to play it when I was a kid, as a rental store near me offered Famicom cartridges with adapters every now and then (though the graphics looked terrible on my North American NES, to the point that I wasn't sure what I was looking at half the time), and it wasn't fun at all. The Lost Levels on SNES wasn't much better. (Though far prettier.)

I love the game despite it being a bit of a one trick pony. Once you've know how to get past each boxer it isn't much of a challenge yet I really enjoyed the characters and humour.
