I was inspired by Facebook status question, which received a lot of response and debate, to continue the discussion here, where there is likely quite a bit of conversational ground still left to cover. So: Who would win in a fight to the death? The Blue Bomber himself or the Metroid bounty hunter? |

Against the original Mega Man, I still think Samus has the edge because the Screw Attack trumps all and she has a much higher upper health limit. (With a Varia Suit, Samus can probably take as many hits from a regular cannon fodder enemy as Mega Man can- just on her first energy tank.) The Wave Beam is probably going to be difficult to either jump over or slide under, too.
Going outside the realm of NES games: I think X could beat her, because he's much faster and more durable than the original Mega Man.

Talk about Sophie's choice. This is hard, but I think Samus has the edge on this battle. She has less selection of weaponry, but they are powerful and effective. Plus, Samus has far more health than Mega Man, so that gives her the advantage.
