Don't get me wrong, I loved the layout of the NES controllers. Simple, elegant, precise. Just... did they have to make the damn things square? I vividly recall the corners digging into the skin between my thumbs and pointer fingers. Bleh. Oh, if only they'd gone SNES round from the start...

I’m with you 100%. I love the look and style of the originals, and will still play with them, but I appreciate the more ergonomic approach of the v.2 “dogbone” model. People make fun of it, but that second version is much more comfortable.
